Architecture History - Yayasan Sabah

Do you know that Yayasan Sabah was officially known as Menara Tun Mustapha? Oh, there must be some of the readers will say like 'Eh, which one eh?". Ok, if you have ever been in Sabah, so you will know where's the building was located. It was built in 1977 and became the second tallest building in the Island of Borneo.

It was located at Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Ok, enough. The location was fully mentioned here. What is the attraction of this building? Nahh~ you just saw that it was like two tough Everyday battery that stands on the top of the other one right? But, forget 'bout it and lets think about the attraction. So well, I ever been here for lots of activities such as futsal tournament, and seminar. The building was the place for office, restaurant and museum. There's a museum about the former Chief Minister of Sabah, Tun Datu Mustapha

Thanks to Google for the image.

The car above was displayed at the museum too and you can go and take a photo with it. Its a retro car of Tun Datu Mustapha and it become one of the attraction here. There was also placed a rotated restaurant at the 18th floor of the building which is will slowly spin once per hour to provide the beautiful and complete view of Likas Harbour. Feels like in KL Tower right?

There was almost 30 floor in the building and with the height of 122m equal to 400 ft, it become one of the landmarks in Sabah. Other than that, you may search it on Google maybe. Ok, after we talked about the features of this building and so-whatever it is, do you really know who was responsible in developing this building in Sabah? The developer was Mori Building Co. with cost US$20 million. And the architect was James Ferrie & Partners, Singapore and Kota Kinabalu. I think, thats all for the story about this building and will come with other useful entries soon.

Thanks for visiting this blog!
